This event brought together key players in the Indigenous and non-Indigenous economy, all of whom are determined to contribute to economic reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One thing is certain, <strong>this edition marks a turning point<\/strong> for the Grand Economic Circle of Indigenous Peoples and Quebec (GECIPQ). Here are our new records:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>46<\/strong> commitments for economic reconciliation. \ud83d\ude4c<\/li>\n<li><strong>16<\/strong> newly committed partners. \ud83e\udd1d<\/li>\n<li><strong>300<\/strong> people participated in the event. \ud83d\ude03<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Event proceedings<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3867  alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/grandcercle.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Blogue-CNAxGCEPAQ-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grandcercle.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Blogue-CNAxGCEPAQ-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/grandcercle.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Blogue-CNAxGCEPAQ-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/grandcercle.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Blogue-CNAxGCEPAQ-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/grandcercle.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Blogue-CNAxGCEPAQ-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/grandcercle.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Blogue-CNAxGCEPAQ.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The event was launched with the opening banquet on November 12! Throughout the 4-course meal, performances and presentations followed one after the other. Atikamekw culture was honoured with the opening song by Jacques N\u00e9washish (actor, filmmaker, painter and sculptor from Wemotaci), as well as by performances by Northern Voice (a drumming group from Wemotaci) and Ivan Boivin-Flamand (guitarist and singer from Manawan).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The day of November 13 began with a presentation on engagement opportunities for economic reconciliation, presented by Waseskon Awashish, <a href=\"https:\/\/grandcercle.ca\/en\/events\/\">GECIPQ<\/a> Coordinator, and Jinny Thibodeau Rankin, Interim General Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdepnql.org\/en\/\">FNQLEDC<\/a>. Two conferences followed: one on Indigenous women\u2019s leadership by Hilda Broomfield Letemplier, President and CEO of Pressure Pipe Steel Fabrication Ltd., and the other on socio-economic parity for Indigenous Peoples by Victoria LaBillois, Mi&#8217;gmaq entrepreneur and Quebec Vice-President of the National Indigenous Economic Development Board. Finally, during round tables, participants discussed reconciliation and economic development.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Important announcement! The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccq.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Commission de la construction du Qu\u00e9bec (CCQ)<\/a> unveiled its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccq.org\/-\/media\/Project\/Ccq\/Ccq%20Website\/PDF\/AffairesAutochtones\/plan-action-PACPNI-2024_EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">construction industry action plan for the inclusion of First Nations and Inuit<\/a> at the end of the day. \ud83d\udea7<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As for the day of November 14, it was marked by various panel discussions held simultaneously. The topics discussed concerned access to capital, bioresources, employability and, of course, economic reconciliation.
